So Ive been working hard these holidays on my UDK tutorials. I will be releasing my first batch of tutorials for beginners shortly. There are the topics covered
UDK Basics 1 - Content Browser and folder setup.
- This tutorial covers the basics of setting up folders and projects in UDK and briefly explains the content browser and its uses.
UDK Basics 2 - Maya Export, UDK import and placing content
- This tutorial explains the settings and steps to take when exporting content from maya for use in UDK. It also explains how to import objects into UDK and place your new content.
UDK Basics 3 - Textures and Material Setup
- This tutorial explains the basics of importing textures and then creating a material from those textures for use on objects in UDK. It also explains some basics node functions that are commonly used.
UDK Basics 4 - Environment Effects, lighting and view port options
- This tutorial explains how to add lights to your scene and how to build your scenes with lightmass. It also covers sun rays, fog and changing your environment colour. Finally it explains some common lighting errors on static meshes and how to fix them.
Looking forward to finally giving back some help to the community, even if it is the basics for now :)
